To provide examples of effective 21st century teaching and learning strategies in order to assist in the development of more engaged and motivated classrooms. To provide multimedia Podcasts and articles to facilitate an understanding of how to implement technology and multimedia in classrooms regardless of content area. To encourage independent and personalized learning by teaching students to enjoy the process of learning. To assist teachers in becoming facilitators of learning.
Connecting with U.S. Teachers Online
What if there was an easy way to access free teaching materials and lesson plan ideas for your subject matter, or share best practices among your colleagues? Thanks to the information shared during an education reform meeting at Stanford last year, the American Federation of Teachers has made that possible.
On June 19, Share My Lesson was launched as the largest online resource for teachers in the U.S. to quickly find and share educational tips, lessons, activities and information on the Common Core State Standards. At the time this article was posted, there were over 200,000 teaching resources available. There are opportunities to join the community and access resources for levels K-12 and special populations. In addition, you can collaborate with and inspire teachers across the nation by sharing your own teaching materials.
